 This forum is planned to:

  • Expand medical education experiences through scholarly interactions with physicians, scientists, residents and students;

  • Stimulate potential research collaboration.

Prizes:
  Award recipients will receive cash prizes ranging from $200 to $400.
Judges will select the award winners based on the quality of the work, the poster,
and a brief interview with the resident researcher.
A brief awards ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Steps to take to participate:

  • Write an abstract summarizing your project.  All abstracts should be printed on one page, with one-inch margins, using Times New Roman 12 pt. font.  The following should be listed at the top of the abstract: the title of the project, all authors (with the primary resident author listed first), and the residency program name.

  • Obtain an approval page from your Program Director or click here.  The Program Director should complete the form, indicating their approval of your project and send the form to DAGMEC via FAX (937-228-1035) by 4/10/09.

  • All abstracts must be submitted electronically as a Word document, by April 10, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.  Documents can be e-mailed to pallbritton@dagmec.org or submitted on a disk to the DAGMEC office.

More details about the poster displays:

  • Researchers may display one or more posters as space allows.  Presenting a poster from a professional meeting is appropriate.  All posters should be on display by 5:00 p.m., and residents should be available with their poster from 5:00-7:00 p.m. to meet with judges and audience members.

  • At the forum, we will provide an easel with display space measuring 4’ (high) and 6’ (wide).  Tacks to mount your poster to the foamcore board will also be available.
