poster presentation that features research and scholarly work
by residents and fellows.

This
forum is planned to:

Give trainees
an opportunity to present their research/scholarly work in poster
format, & to receive feedback on their activities;
-
Expand
medical education experiences through scholarly interactions with
physicians, scientists, residents & students;
-
·Stimulate
potential research collaboration.
Steps to take to participate:
-
Write an
abstract summarizing your project. All abstracts should be printed on
one page, with one-inch margins, using Times New Roman 12 pt. font. The
following should be listed at the top of the abstract: the title of the
project, all authors (with the primary resident author listed first),
and the residency program name.

Obtain an
approval page
from your Program Director or from the DAGMEC web site (www.dagmec.org).
The Program Director should complete the form, indicating their approval
of your project and send the form to DAGMEC via FAX (937-775-3256) by
4/08/2011.

All
abstracts must be submitted electronically as a Word document,
by April 9, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Abstracts should be e-mailed to
jan.austin@wright.edu

details about the poster displays:

Researchers
may display one or more posters as space allows. Presenting a poster
from a professional meeting is appropriate. All posters should be on
display by 5:00 p.m. The room will be available any time after 3:00
p.m. Residents should be available with their poster from 5:00-7:00
p.m.

At the forum,
DAGMEC will provide an easel with display space measuring 4’ (high) and
6’ (wide) and tacks to mount your poster to the foam core board.

All
abstracts must be approved by a resident/fellow’s Program Director.

Awards:
Award recipients will receive cash prizes ranging from $200 to $400.
Judges will select the award winners based on the quality of the work,
the poster, and a brief interview with the resident researcher. A brief
awards ceremony will be held at 6:40 p.m.

The Program
Director will be responsible for identifying one judge for every two
posters submitted. One name can appear on up to two submissions.
Program Directors can serve as judges. If a program director
opts not to provide a judge, the poster submission can be exhibited but
will not be judged for prizes. Judges will NOT be assigned posters from
their own program and/or institution. Abstracts will be provided to the
judges a few days prior to the Forum, however, advance preparation is
not necessary. Judges responsibilities will be to review 4-6 posters,
conduct a short interview with the primary resident author regarding the
research project, and to complete a short evaluation on each poster
assigned. Judging will take place between 5:00-6:00 on the day of the
Forum.
